About

Assemblages of childhood objects surround my men, forming otherworldly portraits with cluttered but delicately detailed dreamscapes, painted on rough chipboard and plywood - the delicacy of the subject and toughness of the substrate meet to bring balance to my personal growth and healing through my art. After choosing my figure, I adorn him with meaningful items from my life and history, creating my own world just like I did surrounded by these objects as a kid. I paint men, the forbidden object of desire growing up in the South, and throw away the objects after I paint them.
